The churches of Central have played a vital role in the development of the city's character. From the earliest settlements through today's continuing dynamic growth, these places of worship are intricately woven into the very fabric of the Central community. Residents, new and old, can find a place to worship that satisfies their needs. Services range from traditional to contemporary, small to large. Programs and ministries for children, youth, young adults, singles, couples and seniors abound. Many community churches offer Mother's Day Out, children's day care, mission outreach and caregiver services for adults. However, even in the midst of the richness of diversity in religious expression, there is a strong emphasis on unity in Central's community of faith and the churches come together for the annual Community Easter Service and the Annual Prayer Banquet. Steady population growth has fueled growth in church membership and the organization of new churches. Whether attending an established church or a new church just beginning to grow, visitors will be welcomed with open arms into the fellowship of friendly, caring people who strive to make a difference in the Central community. Even the smallest congregations have big hearts!
